deleting your account
You can delete your pingr account at any time, from inside the app. It takes
about four taps and it cannot be undone — which is why the app asks first.
in the app
- Open pingr and go to your profile (the photo, top right of the map).
- Scroll to the bottom, under “sign out”.
- Tap delete my account.
- Tap delete everything to confirm.
What is deleted
- Your account, so you cannot sign in with it again.
- Your profile: first name, age, gender, bio.
- Your photo.
- The pings and plans you posted.
- The join requests you sent, and the ones you accepted or declined.
- Your chat messages — including the ones inside chats other people are in.
Those chats keep their shape but lose your lines.
- Your push notification token, so the phone stops receiving anything.
- Your blocks and your “did you meet?” answers.
What is not deleted
- Reports you filed about other people. They are kept so that
repeat behaviour can be seen, and they do not contain your profile once your
account is gone.
- Nothing else about you is kept.
If you cannot sign in
Write to jayshety2@gmail.com from the Google
address you used, or tell us the first name on the account. We will delete it
and confirm in one line. Requests are actioned within 30 days; in practice the
same day.
Deleting some data without deleting the account
You can remove your photo, clear your bio, or take back a join request at any
time without closing the account. Exact meeting points are deleted
automatically 30 days after an activity ends — see
the privacy policy.
